·	Any presence of bacteria in a water sample should be treated to prevent illness.

·	Either chlorination/dechlorination or a ultraviolet light system can be used.

Low producing wells:

·	Any well which runs out of water during normal usage

·	Caused mainly by low recovery rates

Treatment Options:

·	Wells with low recovery rates can generally be deepened to increase storage capacity (1.5 gal/ 1’ of 6” well depth) it also may increase well yield thru intersection of new veins.

Wells that are already drilled to depths of two hundred feet or below the end of the casing can have their yields increased thru a process known as hydrofracturing in which high pressure water is injected into the well below the casing causing the bedrock fractures to enlarge and cause more water to enter the well.

·	An external storage tank can be installed. This tank can either be buried below grade or installed in the basement water from the well slowly refills the tank will a secondary pump draws water from the storage tank and pressurizes it for use in the building.
